The Princess and the Frog​

Open to all Sacred Heart School 3rd & 4th graders

Cast size is limited to fifteen actors in each cast (thirty students total)

Playmakers is excited to announce our 3rd and 4th grade spring play is The Princess and the Frog!

Frieda the Frog may not be the coolest kid in the swamp, but she refuses to let her local community center get torn down to make way for a spa! Her stirring speeches inspire her friends to sign Frieda up for a speech contest. If she wins, she can donate the prize money to save the center and stop the spa.

But Frieda and her friends are not the only kids with goals. The meanest flock in town, the Feathers, won’t stand for a bunch of slimy amphibians getting in the way of their facials. When the speech contest mysteriously gets changed to a cheer contest, the Frieda and friends feel defeated. Their only hope lies in recruiting a real-life princess—who knows more about throwing a fit than lending a hand.

With a wacky supporting cast of crustaceans, insects, a secretive vulture, and a fairy godperson, this comedic gem pays homage to beloved films of the early 1990s. 

The Princess and the Frog registration opens on Monday, March 9th at noon and is first-come, first-served.  

Key Dates

Poison Dart Frogs cast

First rehearsal: Thursday, March 12th, 3:15 - 4:20pm.

Regular rehearsals: Tuesdays/Thursdays from 3:15 - 4:20pm.

Dress rehearsals: May 21st and 26th from 3:30 - 5:20pm.

Performance: Wednesday, May 27th at 6:00pm.

Tree Frogs cast

First rehearsal: Wednesday, March 11th, 3:15 - 4:20pm.

Regular rehearsals: Mondays/Wednesdays from 3:15 - 4:20pm (added rehearsal on 5/15 due to 5/11 day off)

Dress rehearsals: May 20th and 27th from 3:30 - 5:20pm.

Performance: Thursday, May 28th at 6:00pm.

Tuition: $150
