AUCTION FAQ’S

  *Are you still planning an in-person event? Yes! All of the information released as of now has indicated that the new variant of Covid-19 will most likely peak around mid-January. There are safety protocols already in place such as proof of vaccination status and/ or a negative Covid-19 test within 72 hours of the event. Should any of these requirements change, we will notify the community as soon as we are able to.

*Are there limits to the number of registrants? Yes, 300 people max so register fast! We anticipate that this event will sell out quickly.

*What are the COVID-19 requirements to attend? You will need to provide us with your proof of vaccination status PRIOR to the event or provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours of the event night of.

*What if I am diagnosed with COVID-19, or become ill and am unable to attend the event? We appreciate that you will need to stay home in the event you become ill. Due to the limited number of seats at our event we will not be offering refunds, but can convert your ticket into a 100% tax deductible donation to the school.

*How many people can sit at each table? 10 people MAX are allowed per table.

*Can I make specific seating requests for the event? If so, how do I do that? There is a section in the registration where you can input this information. We will do our best to accommodate all requests but cannot guarantee we can meet all of them.

*What about a wine upgrade? We are excited to partner with àMaurice wines again this year! Please see the registration page to order your wine prior to the event. These will be placed on your table prior to the start of the auction. There will be a limited number available to purchase the night-of as well.

*I want to stay the night at the Hyatt, is there a room block in place this year? Yes! Hyatt has worked with Sacred Heart School and is providing a room block for our guests who would like to stay the night. The rate is $169.00 for the Saturday night stay, and the reservation MUST be booked no later than January 21st, 2022. Click on this LINK to secure your room!

*When and where is the auction?  Saturday, Feb. 5th, 2022 at the Hyatt in Bellevue in the Grand Ballroom.

*What is the attire? Cocktail attire with plaid flair in encouraged! Kilts are welcome!

*Are we required to attend the auction? Attendance of the auction is not mandatory but you will miss out on some amazing deals, great food, and a great time!

*Do I have to buy anything? There is a large variety of items at all price levels, which makes the auction affordable for everyone. That said, purchasing items at the auction is  mandatory.

*What time should we arrive? Doors open for the individuals who purchased ‘Show your Heart’ tickets as well as the School Sponsors at 5 pm, and at 5:30 for all other ticket holders. Pre-ballroom time is filled with many fun activities, including a Super Silent auction featuring 30+ items, teacher experience packages, raffle sales, and a close-up look at the class art projects offered during the LIVE auction. It is also a chance to share a drink and catch up with all your Sacred Heart friends, both new and old!

*What is Fund-A-Need and how can I participate? 
Every year, Sacred Heart School identifies an area, or areas, of need. In years past, some of these have included remodeling projects, a new industrial kitchen, and purchasing needed items and improvements for the school. These funds are crucial to helping our students, and our school, succeed. This year’s fund-raising efforts will go towards replacing the upper lot play structure! For more information, please refer to the F.A.N. Section in the Live portion of the catalog. Sacred Heart School appreciates your support of this fund raising segment in any denomination!

*Do I need to attend the auction to bid on Fund-a-Need? No, there will be a link provided where anyone can make a donation outside of the auction if you so choose. Share the link with anyone who wants to join in supporting our Fund-a-Need!

*How does the Super Silent Auction work? Donated items will be displayed on tables throughout the lobby adjacent to the ballroom. Each item will have a bid sheet listing the approximate retail value of the item, the minimum starting bid, and acceptable bidding increments (i.e. $5, $15, $100 etc...). If you wish to bid on an item, print your bid number beside the amount of your bid. The subsequent bidder must offer a higher amount equal to, or greater than, the posted acceptable bid increment. If your heart is set on winning an item, be sure to check back before the bidding closes to place the final, or guaranteed, bid! When the bidding closes, the last person having placed the highest bid will get the item for the amount stated.


*What is Heads or Tails? 
Join us at the start of the Live Auction to play a fun game of chance! For only $25 per player, you could win 50% of the pot in the form of a credit to be used at tonight’s auction*. There will be one sheet per table to sign-up. When you arrive at your table, simply place your bidder number down on the sheet and how many spots you are playing. Volunteers will visit your table to collect these sheets shortly before the Live Auction begins. Each round, you’ll select either heads or tails and the auctioneer will flip a coin. If you picked right, you continue. If not, you’re out and you must sit down. The location of your hands (your head or your tail!) determines whether or not you’re still in the game. Last person standing is the winner! *This credit is good for tonight only. Any unused credit will be donated to Sacred Heart School. Credit can be applied to any auction items purchased during cocktail hour.*

*What is a Teacher Experience? Our teachers have many gifts to offer - and they also have many interesting specialties! The staff will be generously sharing their time and talents with our children to create wonderful Sacred Heart School memories. There will be a specified table during the pre-ballroom time where you can bid on these amazing, one-of-a-kind experiences!

*Can I have a Proxy bid for me? 
Yes! Contact Ragan Kim at rkim@sacredheart.org for a bid number and either ask a friend to bid on your behalf or Ragan can assign a bidder for you.

*How do I get the items that I win? Highest bidders will be charged for the items purchased. Items purchased will be available to pick-up in the lobby immediately after the auction. Items not picked up auction night will be available for pick-up at Sacred Heart following the auction. 

*I have tickets to the After Plaidy. What are the details for this? The After Plaidy* is such a fun way to end the auction! This year, our after party event will take place in the room adjacent to the ballroom. It will have a dance floor, DJ, and late night snacks. The After Plaidy will take place immediately after the auction and end around 11:30 pm. *After Plaidy is only for those individuals who purchased tickets to attend the event. The event tickets will be in your registration packets. Please show them to gain entry into the After Plaidy at the door. 

*What are our options if we do not have a designated driver in our party? 
We want everyone to have a safe ride home from the auction, so be sure to download the Uber or Lyft apps.
